Mannequin Makeover

Spray paint is a beautiful thing. Styrofoam mannequin heads not so much. I was so sick of looking at the ugly white dented heads. They serve their purpose well enough, but who says they can't be functional and pretty? I've always meant to give them a makeover, and finally got to it. We weren't sure if spray paint would stick, or how it would react with the plastic. We tried a two in one paint and primer made for plastic. Soon Test Subject One was prepped for testing.

The mannequins had preexisting holes in the bottom, so we just stuck the handle of an old rake in and my Mom spun it like a rotisserie chicken while I sprayed. The only problem was getting the paint in all the little holes and divots. I believe I gave this poor girl skin problems by getting too close to her face.

Test Subject Two's trial went better. This time instead of trying to cover everything, I did two light coats spraying from further away. This avoided the corrosion problem, and now Test Subject Two has flawless blue skin.

All in all, I'm happy with how they turned out. They are visually appealing, and they make me go "Yeah!" instead of  "Eh."

Now check out this song. I've listened to it like 3 times in a row, and that's unusual  for me. Love it.
