Today I was desperately bored. (That seems to happen to me a lot...) And since shooting the wall is obviously not an option, I decided to craft. Crafting makes everything better. So I took my kindle and I sat in my craft room, where my eyes fell upon this lovely floral print corduroy and this wonderful pattern for a loyalty card case. Although I don't have many cards, I have wanted to make a sleeve for my camera for a while, and this looked like just the thing.
I wasn't sure if the provided pattern would fit my camera, and I didn't really want to print out the pattern, so I made my own. I simply measured my camera, added seam allowances and drew the pattern on tracing paper.
Then I just had to cut and sew. The longest and hardest part of this project is the cutting. It sews up really quickly. I was almost done, all that was left was to install the snap and stitch around the top. But unfortunately, while I was installing the snap, I managed to cut little holes in the centers of all of my pieces. All of them... Dang it.
I had to start all over. At least I already had the pattern made! But how I hate to waste the fabric and the snap!
Round #2 went much better, and with extremely careful snap installation it turned out pretty good. I really love the floral, and the lining is just perfect!
My camera fits very nicely, that's the beauty of it being custom made. And now that it has at least some protection, I feel much better about just throwing it in my bag. Which happens. A lot.
Pictures thanks to my sister Tessa.
(who demanded full credit even though I took some of them.)
